Barcode encyclopedia : Symbology pharmacode
The Pharma bar code is used in the pharmaceutical industry as a packing control system (Online security Control). It is subset of Code 39, storing only a singlenumber from 1 to 8190.
Unlike any other 1D bar code, it does not store the data in a form correspondingto the human-readable digits, as indicated by the fact that the data range is a binary, rather than a decimal number.
It is designed to be readable in spite of printing errors. It can be printed in multiple colors as a check to ensure that the remainder of the packaging (which the pharmaceutical industry must print from legal liability) is correctly printed.
